Before I was a journalist, I was an equity research analyst, which means I spent years building spreadsheets nobody outside a trading floor will ever see. That background shaped how I report: I do not trust a business narrative until I have seen the numbers underneath it.

I open most of my stories with the number that matters, then tell you the story behind it. On any market-moving story, I try to answer the question that actually matters to a reader: who wins and who loses.

I am in my early forties and have covered markets, monetary policy, and small business economics since 2016.
